The installation of the nine-foot Atlas clock above the house’s store at 550 Broadway, in New York City, made by Charles Lewis Tiffany in 1853 is one of the most memorable moments of the house’s watchmaking journey. The clock, which still stands at the entrance of the store, not only led to the origin of the now-famous phrase ‘New York minute’ but also became a watch of reference for many New Yorkers. In addition, this significant event inspired two of the most sought-after watch collections by the maison — the Atlas and CT60. 

Atlas is the epitome of culture, style, and old-world charm. Introduced in 1983, the watch was a tribute to the great Atlas clock above the Broadway store and has been a flagship model of the house ever since. Through the years, the collection has iterated into various beautiful forms. Many of its pieces also come decorated with diamonds. However, the signature Roman numerals and vintage appeal have remained at the heart of the collection’s identity.

A Tiffany watch, worn by US President Franklin D Roosevelt at the famed Yalta Conference in 1945, inspired the design and retro aesthetics of the CT60 collection. However, its name finds inspiration from the house’s founder. CT stands for Charles Tiffany and 60 commemorates his renowned phrase  — ‘New York minute’. Unlike the Atlas, which garners admiration on account of its graceful form, CT60 is a bold mechanical watch powered by a reliable Swiss movement. It’s completely hand assembled and also comes with a dual-time complication. Another collection that manifests Tiffany & Co.’s watchmaking prowess is the Tiffany East West collection. An innovative and distinctive timepiece, the East West is marked by its long horizontal case shape. Its latest models include automatic watches and pieces with Super-LumiNova numerals.
